Description of Music Ranch Montana
To All Our Visitors Print

To all our Visitors,

The Music Ranch has been built from an inspiration. The need for a place where all those who want to play or sing and all those who want to listen can get together for mutual enjoyment and satisfaction in a family environment. From the beginning thought in 1995 to the present, it has been propelled by the statement in the movie "Field of Dreams" if you build it they will come.

We are blessed with an unsurpassed natural setting for this place of Music, here in Paradise Valley Montana, on the route to the main gate into Yellowstone National Park. It is our hope that many, many people of all ages, from here in North America and throughout the World will enjoy Music Ranch Montana, either as novice entertainers, acclaimed professionals or as happy listeners. We hope that you keep in touch and come by for a visit. There are a great many people involved in this dream and we all look forward to serving you.

Thank you very much for your interest.

Yours very truly,

Karen and Frank

Welcome To Music Ranch Montana Print

Music Ranch Montana

.... a few years ago, Frank needed the first "Music Ranch" building for his regular Business (TowHaul), so Music Ranch went on hold while he built another one. Well, the new one is almost complete and we even did a "housewarming" show there on Sept. 15th. It's located on the Smith property in Paradise Valley, about ten miles south of Livingston, Montana. Frank has built a really nice barn-like structure, with a great kitchen/serving area, performers lounge and dressing rooms, good stage, great sound system and seating inside for about 300-400 people.

The South side wall consists of garage doors which can be opened to a natural amphitheater which will seat another 400 people when he is all done. The stage is nicely set up with direct access from the upstairs performers lounge to the wings so that you can sit in the lounge until almost time for your appearance and then go down the stairs and be waiting in the wings. The kitchen is very nice and food can be prepared right there or brought in and placed on the serving counter. Lots of bathrooms for audience and performers with dressing rooms/showers on the upper floors. All this will make a facility that is comfortable and useful for performers and audience and creates a very intriguing venue for anyone who wants to do a show in the Bozeman/ Livingston area.

Frank and Karen would like to see performers out there whenever we are traveling through. They would like to set up frequent shows and say that if you are traveling through you are welcome to stop in.

June 28 through July 6 -- Preview Opening

This summer (2008) there will be a "pre-view opening" for Music Ranch in Paradise with a Friends of Music Ranch Week running from June 28th through July 6th. This 9 day event is being developed to provide great entertainment for all from numerous performances by local and non-local artists. One of the defining trade marks of Music Ranch is to provide an opportunity for stage time for all who have the desire to sing or play and this tradition will be on-going during the week. Over the next several weeks a detailed listing of daily shows, activities, meals and events will be posted for your interest and planning and to allow early ticketing for some of the main acts.

INFORMATION Print
  • COST OF EVENTS

    • Some events which feature "name acts" will have ticket prices in a traditional manner.
    • Other performers will most often be covered by "day use" charges based on the length of time one individual or a group spends at the Music Ranch which is essentially a "Music Theme Park"
    • It is tentatively planned that there will be 1 ½ hours of "free time" for people to become familiar with the activities on any given day with a charge of $4.00 to $7.00 per hour for time in excess of 1 ½ hours. The charges will be paid before leaving the park.
  • GENERAL NOTES

The Music Ranch does not have sponsored advertising, sales of alcohol or casino revenue to subsidize the cost of musical acts therefore the charges will reflect a balance between the cost of the act and the attendance.

  • The entire concept of the Music Ranch is unique in that it hopes to provide the place for a broad and interactive connection between different types of music and varying levels of talent and experience, both professional and amateur. All this for audiences comprising local residents as well as visitors from near and far.
  • We appreciate your interest, questions and comments.
